十日町雪まつりは、昭和25年「雪と友とし、雪を楽しむ」という地元住民たちの想いからはじまり、親しまれてきました。3年ぶりの開催となる第74回十日町雪まつりは、その想いを胸に、新たな形で開催いたします。コンセプトは、❝雪の白に、明日を描く❞。今回は十日町駅・下条駅・越後水沢駅の3駅を拠点とし、市内全体を通して十日町雪まつりを楽しんでいただけるようスタッフ一同準備を進めております。

イベント内容
第74回十日町雪まつりで実施するイベント内容を一部ご紹介いたします。
●まちなかスノーパーク
今回メインエリアとなるのは十日町市立西小学校グラウンド、通称「まちなかスノーパーク」。
おいしいグルメやアルコール類を堪能できる他、雪を楽しめるアクティビティやミニSL（蒸気機関車）の運行などを予定しており、大人から子供まで楽しめるコンテンツが盛りだくさんとなっています。
メインエリア詳細
●雪灯の小径（ゆきあかりのこみち）
十日町駅西口からメインエリア「まちなかスノーパーク」まで向かう動線として、雪壁で覆われた緑道「雪灯の小径」があります。周囲の雰囲気と遮断することで雪国の世界観を演出し、夜間はLEDの灯籠で雪壁がライトアップされるため、幻想的な空間が広がります。
●雪の芸術展
市民手づくりの「雪の芸術作品」は十日町雪まつりの原点であり、多くの方が制作に携わっています。今回も市内各地に趣向を凝らした作品が制作される予定です。迫力ある雪像を是非現地でご覧ください。

●虹雪花火（にじゆきはなび）
フィナーレには十日町雪まつりのコンセプト「雪の白に明日を描く」をイメージとした色鮮やかな花火、「虹雪花火」が十日町市の夜空を彩ります。

●Instagramフォトコンテスト「＃雪とある日のとおかまち2023」
世界有数の豪雪地である十日町市の冬は色んな表情を魅せてくれます。そんな冬の日常の様子を「＃雪とある日のとおかまち2023」のハッシュタグをつけてInstagram（インスタグラム）でご応募ください。
応募期間：2月11日（土）～2月28日（火）

The 74th Tokamachi Snow Festival will be held as follows below.
The Tokamachi Snow Festival began in 1950 when local residents had the idea of “make friends with the snow and enjoy it.” This year’s festival, which will be the first time in three years, will be held in a different way from festivals past. The concept for this year is “Painting Tomorrow in the Ivory Snow.” With three local train stations – Tokamachi, Gejo, and Echigo-Mizusawa Stations – functioning as the main event spaces, this year’s festival will extend throughout the city, and all of our festival staff is working hard to prepare a snow festival that everyone can enjoy.

Event Details:
The following events and attractions will be held during the 74th Tokamachi Snow Festival. Please note this list is subject to change.
●Downtown Snow Park
The main area, known as Downtown Snow Park, will be the grounds of Nishi Elementary School. There will be something for everyone, whether it’s delicious food and alcohol, or the variety of snow activities, and even a miniature train will be in operation.
●Snowlight Path
There will be a path indicated by illuminated walls of snow stretching from the west entrance of Tokamachi Station all the way to the Machinaka Snow Park known as the Snowlight Path. The height from the snow walls on either side will create a sense of immersion within Snow Country, and at night LED lanterns will be lit up, resulting in a truly magical winter wonderland you won’t want to miss.
●Snow Art Festival
The artworks made entirely from snow are a staple of the Tokamachi Snow Festival since its beginning years, and lots of local residents take part in their creation. This year is no different and each region of Tokamachi is planning their own majestic displays. Make sure to see all of these impressive feats of work!
●Rainbow Snow Fireworks
The finale of the Snow Festival will draw on from this year’s concept, “Painting Tomorrow in the Ivory Snow,” with a gorgeous splash of vivid coloring that will light up the night sky over the snowy world of Tokamachi City.
●Instagram Hashtag Contest: #OneDayInSnowyTokamachi2023
Let’s show off winter in Tokamachi City, one of the regions in the world with the most snowfall! Participate using the English hashtag #OneDayInSnowyTokamachi2023 (or the Japanese hashtag ＃雪とある日のとおかまち2023) on your posts showing off your time in Tokamachi. (Official Instagram account is currently in preparation.)
